Dowtown Sacramento Welcomes First LEED-Certified Homes

Featured on CBS 13 News, the 9onF project features the first LEED-certified homes in the central city. The project is the only new development in Northern California to combine geothermal air conditioning with solar panels for energy efficiency - up to 80% saving over comparable homes. Cunningham Engineering provided full civil engineering and landscape architecture services and incorporated a number of sustainable design elements for this exciting walk-to-work community of free-standing townhomes.

The developer 49Mile, Inc. practiced sustainability at every step of the development processes, involving neighborhood groups in pre-planning design, working with historic preservation in design development, building the first LEED-for-homes project in the central city, and even creating an innovative “Carbon-Offset Financing” program.
