What's New

Sacramento Business Journal's Real Estate Projects of the Year Awards Were Announced Today!

3 Winning Projects

Three Cunningham projects take top honors.

Best Infill Project - La Valentina

La Valentina is an affordable housing, transit-oriented development on two adjacent sites at 12th & E Streets in downtown Sacramento. The north site includes four, 3-story townhouse buildings with 18 rental apartments, while the Station site features a 4-story mixed-use building with 63 for-rent units above ground floor commercial space.

Best Community Impact - Greyhound Station

The new 10,000 SF Greyhound Bus Station on Richards Blvd. was designed to provide more efficient bus service and better passenger accommodations to its patrons. Surrounding site improvements to the facility were also implemented to improve traffic access and circulation via construction of Sequoia Pacific Boulevard which establishes a neo-traditional street grid pattern envisioned for the revitalized River District area.

Best Sustainable Development - UC Davis West Village

This new 224-acre master-planned residential neighborhood is the nation's largest net-zero project. The community emphasizes sustainability, walkability and quality of place. Cunningham has been involved with the project since its initial planning stage over ten years ago.

In addition to our 3 winning projects, several other Cunningham projects were among the Project of the Year finalists:

  • Mutual Housing at The Highlands
  • Rochdale Grange Housing at Spring Lake
  • UC Davis Student Community Center

We at Cunningham Engineering are proud of the successful collaboration with our design team partners and our clients. We look forward to an exciting 2013 designing more award-winning projects.
