Cunningham Engineering teamed with the noted national architectural firm SmithGroup to design this $96 million facility for genome research on the UC Davis campus, as well as its predecessor, the Genomics Launch Facility, a fast-track, temporary home of the Genome Initiative.

Project challenges included a fast-track schedule, insufficient utility facilities and UC Davis' immediate need to initiate the program.
