The master plan goals are to integrate a one mile stretch of Putah Creek along the city’s boundary into the community’s open space fabric.

The 2007 master plan is based on a realignment of the creek bed that is appropriate for the existing hydrologic conditions and the removal of the exotic plant species.  The new creek alignment provides space for a series of accessible loop trails, the development of an outdoor classroom/family recreation space in the creek’s flood plain, and a series of rock weirs for creek crossings, a second bike/pedestrian bridge crossing and identifies future community center enhancements.
