Featured on CBS News as a model for innovative green technology, the 9onF project will feature the first LEED for Homes Silver and Gold certified homes in the central city, and is the first development in Northern California to combine geothermal air conditioning with a solar energy system. Cunningham Engineering provided full civil engineering and landscape architecture services for this exciting walk-to-work community of free-standing townhomes.

In order to meet the Developer’s green objectives, our team implemented a number of sustainable design elements. Parking configurations and pavers for pedestrian areas were designed to maximize natural drainage. In addition, groundcovers and plantings were selected to conserve water and provide natural shade to paved surfaces. Project challenges included coordination and negotiation with the City to create flexible design standards.
