Company Sustainability

β€œThe Things to do are: the things that need doing, that you see need to be done, and that no one else seems to see need to be done.”

                                                                                                                              - Buckminster Fuller

Cunningham Engineering strives to do not only the things that need to be done, but also to do the things that no one else seems to see the need to be done...yet.

As such, we are committed not just to making our projects sustainable, but to making our company's operations sustainable too.  Our offices use energy-efficient lighting, Energy Star appliances, recycled flooring and building materials, low-VOC paints, and operable windows.  Our operations emphasize reducing office waste, re-using and recycling materials, and conserving water.  Cunningham Engineering's offices are certified under the Sacramento Business Environmental Resource Center's (BERC) Sacramento Area Sustainable Businesses program.  We know that sometimes it's not easy being green, but we see being green as the only choice in ensuring a healthy and productive workplace, being conscious of the environment, and helping sustain our business success.

We also place importance on strengthening and giving back to our communities.  Cunningham Engineering's employees serve in various capacities in local organizations including the Davis, Sacramento, and West Sacramento Rotary Clubs; the Sacramento SPCA; the Davis High School Blue & White Foundation; the Davis Chamber of Commerce; and other volunteer associations and organizations.  We recognize that in order to create a truly sustainable community, we not only need to ensure long-term environmental and economic success, but also strengthening the social ties and promoting the health and well-being of the people we live, work, and play with in our communities.
